Rev. Dr. Patricia L. Freeman, Pastor

Rev. Dr. Patricia L. Freeman accepted her calling into the ministry thirty-one years ago. She completed her Master’s Degree in Divinity at Campbell University, in Buies Creek, North Carolina and received a Doctorate in Ministry at Hood Theological Seminary, in Salisbury, North Carolina. She was born in Southport, North Carolina and is a graduate of Leland High School, Leland, North Carolina. For several years, Patricia worked with various Federal Government agencies such as the U.S. Air Force Project Management; the Internal Revenue Service; the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers, and the U.S. Secret Service. She earned a degree in Business Administration: Management and Organization Development from Mount Olive College. 

 

Pastor Freeman served on the North Carolina Conference Board of Examiners as Secretary and an Instructor. On the District Level she serves as part of the finance commission. She also serves as the Statistician on the North Carolina Annual Conference Level. Rev. Freeman has also sat on the Board of Ministers at Campbell University School of Divinity as secretary. 

 

Rev. Dr. Patricia L. Freeman is the first female to pastor at St. Phillip AME Church in the ninety-three years of it being part of the North Carolina Conference and the Second Episcopal District.

 

Pastor Freeman is married to Marvin E. Freeman, Sr. They have two adult sons and four grandchildren. She has also owned and operated an interior decorating and design business. In her spare time she enjoys gardening, sewing and reading.

 

Pastor Freeman has vowed to speak His Word with authority, wisdom, and compassion.

There are many biblical scriptures Pastor Freeman loves to quote, such as:

 

Jeremiah 29:11 - For I know the thoughts that I think toward you said the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. (KJV)
